Ariana had to be matched up against Lee to defend her Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational Championship, won by Lee. Then, in July of 2014, she was accompanied by Naomi Natalya Eva Marie Rosa Mendes Summer Rae to take on Nikki Bella for a 6-on-1 handicap match. However, she was there just to fight Nikki Bella as well as Naomi. The Battleground preshow was a battle between her and Naomi. Ariana took the win. As a consequence, they began to compete.
